Pet Valu & Thunder Bay Police Service Collect Donations for Displaced Families in Thunder Bay
Thunder Bay is stepping up for families — and their pets — displaced by the ongoing wildfires across Northwestern Ontario. The Thunder Bay Police Service has launched a 24/7 toy drive at 1200 Balmoral Street, collecting new or gently used toys, books and games to bring comfort to evacuated children. At the same time, all Pet Valu locations in the city are gathering food, leashes, bowls and other essentials for pets who fled with their families. Store manager Cara Reynolds says, “All the values here in town are going to be collecting donations for displaced animals due to the forest fires… we’re going to try and fill the crate as fast as we can.”
