Sault Ste. Marie Lifts Spring Truck Restrictions May 25
Seasonal truck weight restrictions have officially been lifted in Sault Ste. Marie as of May 25, 2026.
For the past two months, heavy vehicles were limited to five tonnes per axle on most city streets to protect roads during the spring thaw, when melting ground weakens pavement structures and increases the risk of damage.
